WHAT IS TCTSY or TC-TSY?
Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TC-TSY) has foundations in Trauma Theory, Attachment Theory, Neuroscience and Hatha Yoga practice, with an emphasis on body-based yoga forms and breathing practices. TC-TSY is an evidence-based somatic program and practice for adults and youth affected by traumatic stress, complex trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or other related behavioural and emotional conditions.
Kristen Pringle is one of only a handful of licensed TCTSY trainers and TCTSY Certification Program Supervisors worldwide and facilitates: private TC-TSY classes & courses (at the Psychology, Trauma and Mindfulness Centre in Mornington, VIC, Australia); TC-TSY programs for organisations; TC-TSY & TSY Supervision; and TC-TSY training and consultation in Australia and overseas. For Online TC-TSY Foundation workshops for 2020, click here or at TCTSY Australasia
Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TSY) was developed in the United States at the Trauma Center at JRI, and as it developed into an evidence-based protocol, it was re-named TC-TSY (Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga), now the lead program at the Center for Trauma and Embodiment at JRI. TC-TSY was the first yoga model worldwide recognized as a clinical adjunctive treatment for trauma with SAMHSA-NREPP in 2016. On 22/2/2019 Kristen spoke about TSY and TC-TSY on the 3AW radio show Mindful
